I was born in 1972 in Prague, where I still live, although I feel increasingly drawn to the countryside.
I began my photography journey with staged product photography, capturing objects, food, and similar subjects. Over time, I transitioned to staged portrait photography, working both in the studio and outdoors. Today, I focus on authentic photography – documentary, street photography, and unposed shots.
I started out shooting on film. In the 1990s, I was among the first to adopt digital cameras. Nowadays, I work with both formats, alternating between film and digital based on the situation and my mood.
What matters most to me? Capturing authentic, unembellished moments that possess timeless value and age like fine wine. Photography isn’t just about technique – my communication skills are equally important. I enjoy greeting people, engaging in a short conversation, and creating a relaxed atmosphere that allows them to open up.
Outside of photography, I enjoy high-altitude hiking, camping, cooking, gardening, and working with my hands. And above all, I deeply love my partner.
